One of the things that sets Kara Stokes Photography apart from other studios is my high touch approach to my sessions, with the aim to give you an experience every bit as amazing as your photos. Many, many hours before and after your session are spent focused on you and your family, from planning to shooting to editing to conceptualizing art pieces. I limit the number of sessions I take on a month, to ensure that I’m able to devote this time to your artwork.
Each session includes a pre-shoot consultation, where we can chat either on the phone or over coffee (my treat!) about what you’re looking for in your portrait session. This not only gives me great sense of how to shoot to get you exactly what you’re looking for, but it also lets us get to know each other and for me to learn about your family prior to the session. In person consultations also give you the chance to see and feel my heirloom products, to help you start thinking about how you want to display your final artwork in your home.
By putting lots of thought and attention into the planning of your session, it allows me to absolutely nail the creative on the day, so that the focus can be on making sure you and your family have fun during our shoot.
About one week after your session, we meet for your viewing and ordering appointment, where your thoughtfully edited images are unveiled. This is the really fun part, where we get to sit back and just ooh and ahh about how beautiful your family is.
I then help you pin down which portraits are your favorite, and which products work best for your needs. You leave your viewing and ordering appointment knowing that in mere weeks, you’ll have beautiful works of art for your walls and your coffee table that show off that incredible family of yours.
